Making Plans

"...Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof"  Matthew 6:34b

It's always something! Seems like something always goes wrong with the best laid plans made for the day. We ought to expect it. The picture above is a good example. Truck stuck, bear on one side, horses about to jump out, cold and miserable. This may be sort of extreme but it certainly brings to mind what God has to say about some things. The whole verse states: "Take therefor no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Fact is, we do not live in a perfect world. Fact is, this world will never be a perfect place no matter how it may be dressed up by catchy advertisements relating to resorts, vacations, clothes, cosmetics, and the list goes on. There is, however, a place that God has for His children that IS perfect. Where there will be nothing going wrong, ever. This place is called HEAVEN... a place where there are no tears, no death, no crying, no sorrows, no pains. Hard to imagine, but this is exactly what God tells us in Revelation 21:4.

If you haven't made plans regarding Heaven, this is what God has to say. "...Behold, now is the accepted time; Behold, now is the day of salvation." Tomorrow may be too late! I am reminded of the fellow who made a good living putting up fences for farmers. The fellow's wife had gone to church and at the conclusion of the service that Sunday, received Jesus Christ as her Saviour. Right away, she asked the Pastor to visit her and try to persuade her husband to be saved. Well, the Pastor did and the fellow was right "slippery," said he would come Sunday and do business over the matter of salvation. That was on a Tuesday. On Thursday as he was out working, driving his tractor on a hillside, the tractor rolled over pinning him and killing him. The Bible speaks of NOW, when it comes to salvation. One never knows what will happen tomorrow. We have no guarantee of being alive tomorrow. If you haven't made plans, come to Jesus Christ TODAY. "FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED" Romans 10:13
